Strictly Come Dancing star John Sergeant has told judges on the hit show to stop calling for his head - or to quit themselves.

On Saturday the 64-year-old veteran journalist received just 12 votes from the judges out of a possible 40 for his Cha Cha Cha but the public saved him.

His consistently low marks from judges Arlene Phillips. Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood has opened a debate about the show - is it pure entertainment or is it a show about genuine dancing ability?
